Book Review: One Indian Girl by Chetan Bhagat

If you are a voracious book-reader and are a fan of geek-vanity you will claim to dislike Chetan Bhagat. Even though I end up reading his books, I also do this.

I was so happy to purchase his latest book " One Indian Girl" (a. It was a steal at a very low price. It was also very expensive. I wanted to read it before I wrote my critique. But, I was unsure how long it would take to read the book without getting annoyed by it. It was so amazing that I finished it in two days and I ended up asking for more.

Radhika Mehta is a renowned I-Banker, who struggles to find the ideal balance between work and love in the men's world. She was taught that her excessive educationand wheatish skin makes her men-resistant. But she soon gets to meet amazing guys who proved her wrong. They're affected by their male chauvinistic mindset that says that a woman isn't able to have everything. She'll have to make difficult decisions to remain in love with them.

Radhika in the story all through the book, is always trying to balance everything: her high-achieving career, her messy love life, and her obsession with her mother's wedding. She is like every Indian girl in the year 2016 determined and independent. She desires to be with a man who will not require her to make a choice. She doesn't think her career will be more significant than the family, or contrary. It's because she knows she's prepared to handle anything whenever it comes.

Strangely, Radhika is me. I laughed with her, wept with her, felt angry with her, and felt helpless for her. It's exhausting being 25 and earning a living in big cities. You wear a brave smile and go to work every day. It's possible to take a lot away from you when life throws you curve balls like heartbreaks or the pressure of an unplanned marriage. You pretend it's just another argument with your mom, and move on. Radhika knows that life is tough. You must fight like a fighter, and it appears as if there was no loss (even although you've been killed at least a couple of times).

Chetal Bhagat did an admirable work with "One Indian Girl'. It was amazing to see his ability to capture the spirit an Indian girl today and made it relatable through Radhika. He was able to show the insecurities as well as inhibitionsof one Indian man in 2016. It's not so much with beauty of a woman as it does with her brain. The book was enjoyable and a good read for a lazy weekend although I found the synopsis to be inconclusive. Kudos!

This book is written for girls. It will let you know that you are the best. Do not settle for less.

Guys, get acquainted with your person by studying this book. It's important for you to have the maturity to understand it.

A book without feminist men and no feminist women

The highly controversial book One Indian girl by Chetan Bhagat is highly regarded. They either want to throw the book out, or they laugh at the sales numbers and talk about "publishing revolution", "new breeds of readers" and "publishing revolution". Indeed, Chetan Bhagat revolutionized the Indian (English-language) publishing industry once by advocating for the aspirations and demands of a generation. This is not the exact book. The brand that is selling the book. Customersbuy brands for various reasons. Lakhs and thousands of people will line up to get tickets to the premiere of a movie by an established star. Are the films any good? It might be, but it could not. They're there to see their top film, not because they think it's good. Bhagat's novel is an example of this: Res. gives away books for free So sales figures aren't crucial. 1. In the first week following its introduction.

One Indian Girl is a plot which reads like a color-by numbers exercise manual on Bollywood scriptwriting -- a Punjabi wedding? Check it out. Check. Comedy segment featuring awkward aunties Check. Check. You can check. Are there locations within London, Hong Kong, and New York? Check, check, check. The central premise of the novel is no less formulaic: An immensely successful woman has to choose between three brainless-but-adorable men. The first is a self-confessed bore who is obsessed with Bollywoodand cricket. The second man is a Bengali communist with an unlucky habit of using the word "baby". The third is an older, but extremely desirable man. Radhika Mehta, a successful attractive, elegant, and gentle woman, is likely to marry any of these three men. She could only have fallen in love with them due to being too scared to believe they have chosen to. People with low self-esteem will do bizarre things. I'm sure there are many women who feel betrayed by men who aren't worthy of their attention. We don't have the authority to give Radhika what she should feel. The problem is that Bhagat doesn't provide a reason for why she is so obsessed with guys that aren't worthy of her respect. He thinks it's normal for smart, successful women to become enamored of jerks.

Let's face it. One Indian Girl is not intended to be a feminist-themed novel. Bhagat's politics may be closer to that of Brijesh Gulati, the portrayal: "I believe all human beings deserve the same rights. There isn't a battle between men and women, but humans versus humans. Feminist is an incorrect term. It's better to call it humanist." This is one of the conclusions Radhika Bhagat Bhagat, Bhagat's main character is drawn to after her self-realization moment. "Everything doesn't require high-tech labels, like feminism for instance. She says "Just logic" and they both smile as they disappear into the sunset. They are content with their mutual rationality and dismiss a 300-year-old violent story of a political movement's history. Does every story presented from a woman's point of view should be considered to be feminist? It's not so. The problem is that Bhagat lost the plot, and instead of writing a book "from the point of view of a girl", it became a book about "the problems women face".
